I have lost my phone - how do I get my contacts back?

Don't panic, that's what CPP Data Backups here for!

Once you have your replacement phone, sign in to your account and click the 'I've lost my phone' option at the top of Home. Simply follow the steps outlined to sync your new phone and download your old address book onto it. Phew!

Why are some of my contacts not restored after I changed my phone?

This is normally due to the phone's contact storage memory. If this is exceeded then your remaining contacts cannot be transferred onto your new phone. For example, if your phone can only store 500 contacts, and you have over 500 contacts stored in your CPP Data Backup account, when you synchronise only 500 of your contacts will be transferred onto your new phone.

I have already transferred my contacts to my new phone - should I synchronise?

If you have already transferred your contacts to your new phone before synchronising with your CPP Data Backup account, please note that if you synchronise the contacts on your phone will be seen as new contacts. Therefore, this can lead to you having duplicated contacts. We would suggest that if your contacts are up to date in your account, that you delete the contacts on your phone before synchronising, which will prevent you from getting duplicated contacts when you synchronise.
